Practical Money for Intentional Living

I started 1 Practical Gal because I believe money is a tool we can use to build the lives we actually want to live.

For me, that means saving consistently, investing for the future and avoiding unnecessary financial stress. But it also means paying attention to the smaller, everyday decisions—the ones that can quietly move us closer to, or further away from, the life we want.

I don’t think managing money needs to be complicated. And I definitely don’t think there’s one perfect way to do it.

Here, I share what I’m learning, trying and thinking about along the way—from simple financial foundations to small experiments with spending, saving and investing. Some work. Some get adjusted. And sometimes the best financial move is simply doing the boring thing that works and doing it again.

The point of using money well isn’t simply to have more money.

Handled intentionally, money creates more margin. It gives us more choices. And seeing the results of good decisions compound over time builds confidence to make decisions based on what matters to us.

That’s what financial peace means to me.
